NewLead Holdings Ltd. (NewLead), formerly Aries Maritime Transport Limited, is an international shipping company that owns and operates product tanker and dry bulk vessels. In January 2010, the Company completed the sale of the Seine and the Saronikos Bridge. In October 2009, Grandunion Inc. acquired approximately 34.2% interest in the Company in exchange for three capesize drybulk carriers. As of January 31, 2010, the Company operate a fleet of 12 vessels, consisting of nine product tankers and three dry bulk vessels. As of January 31, 2010, six of its twelve vessels are secured on period charters with established international charterers. Its product tankers are designed to transport several different refined petroleum products simultaneously in segregated coated cargo tanks. These cargoes typically include gasoline, jet fuel, kerosene, naphtha and heating oil.
