Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corporation (Great Lakes) is a provider of dredging services in the United States. The Company is engaged in the business of marine construction, primarily dredging, and commercial and industrial demolition .The Company provides dredging services in the East, West and Gulf Coasts of the United States and worldwide. Great Lakes operates in two segments: dredging and demolition. It also owns a majority interest in NASDI, LLC (NASDI), a demolition services provider located in the Boston, Massachusetts area. The Companys primary dredging customers are domestic and foreign government agencies, as well as private entities, and its primary demolition customers are general contractors, corporations that commission projects, non-profit institutions, such as universities and hospitals, and local government and municipal agencies. On January 1, 2009, the Company acquired a 65% majority interest in Yankee Environmental Services, LLC (Yankee).
