DexCom, Inc. is a medical device company focused on the design, development and commercialization of continuous glucose monitoring systems for ambulatory use by people with diabetes and for use by healthcare providers in the hospital for the treatment of both diabetic and non-diabetic patients. The Company had received approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its third generation system, the SEVEN PLUS, which is designed for up to seven days of continuous use. As of December 31, 2010, DexCom, Inc. no longer marketed or provided support for the SEVEN system. The Company�s sensor includes a tiny wire-like electrode coated with its sensing membrane system. The SEVEN PLUS is indicated for use as an adjunctive device to complement, not replace, information obtained from standard home blood glucose monitoring devices.
