Boston Properties, Inc. is an integrated, self-administered and self-managed real estate investment trust (REIT). The Company is an owner and developer of office properties in the United States. The Companys properties are concentrated in five markets: Boston, Washington, D.C., midtown Manhattan, San Francisco, and Princeton, New Jersey. The Company conducts all of its business through its subsidiary, Boston Properties Limited Partnership (BPLP). As of December 31, 2010, the Company owned or had interests in 146 properties, totaling approximately 39.9 million net rentable square feet, including five properties under construction totaling approximately two million net rentable square feet. In addition, it had structured parking for approximately 40,664 vehicles containing approximately 13.7 million square feet. On February 1, 2011, the Company acquired Bay Colony Corporate Center in Waltham, Massachusetts.
